Personal history (something like)

Posted on April 17th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

In August 2008, a guy from the other side of Europe, will come here alone, without a lot of money or any idea what is waiting here (in Scotland).

The thing I knew was that I will do WEB and nothing else..

When I decided to come here, I have never feld any fear from the unknown, beacause I am confident and I know what I am doing and what I want to do.

Today, this guy is an yong man with his own, independent life. He has a very good job, studies, a very nice girl and more than everything he needs. That’s me! (Show off, why not? ;])

In August I had only a laptop, not a lot money and no idea what is waiting here.

Today, I have something like a little computer club:

Dexter's laboratory :D
Theese systems have one of the latest generations quad core processors inside.

And here is the beers collection:

Само Carlsberg! :D
The beer gives you inmortality! (only during the weekends 😉

Allright, that’s me going, I am gonna go to a club or pub somewhere now..

SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE SCREAMIN

Posted on April 8th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

Get flash player to play to this file

While you were out…
The message says
You left a number
And I tried to call
But they wrote it down
In a perfect spanish scrawl
In a perfect spanish scrawl

Yet again
Im missing you
King size bed
(in a) hotel someplace
I hear your name
I see your face
I see your face

(the) back street dolls
And the side door johnnies
The wide eyed boys with their bags full of
Money
Back in the alley
Going bang to the wall
Tied to the tail
Of a midnight crawl
Heaven wouldnt be
So high I know
If the times gone by
Hadnt been so low
The best laid plans
Come apart at the seams
And shatter all my dreams

Sometimes I feel like…
Screaming
Close my eyes
Its times like this
My head goes down
And the only thing I know
Is the name of this town
Is the name of this town

Yet again
Im missing you
Wont be long
O coming home
Until that distant time
Ill be moving on
Ill be moving on

What most of you don’t understand about the modern web..

Posted on April 5th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

What most of you don’t understand about the web is that it has changed. The term ‘looking professional on the web’ has changed. Now a days the web is not about advertising, but it is for socialization.

This means that nobody doesn’t care and nobody isn’t interested in buying your services or products. A question for you: do you like watching TV ads or commercials? Of course, the answer is no.

Most of the businesses out there have websites, which look like a huge TV commercial, which doesn’t get the interest of the viewers.

Statements like ‘this is the best service you can get’ will NOT make anyone of your website visitors go for buying it. In web 2.0, your visitors care about your personality, they want to know more about the way you do the things, about your philosophy.

No body doesn’t go to your website with the intention to buy something from you. Your task is to make your service/product look interesting, if it doesn’t… your website is there in vane!

Web @ 20

Posted on March 24th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

This year, both me and the web are turning 20.
The invetor of the web is Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who changed the world, and because of who you are reading this text and any other resource on the web.
The first ever web server in the world was located in CERN on URL: http://info.cern.ch
The original purpose of the web was to organize and provide all the information in CERN.
I have read the book “Weaving the web”, written by Tim Bareners-Lee and I found a lot of aspects of Tim’s life the same as me..

Both me and the web have changed for the last years.
While in the past a webmaster publicated information for their users, now in the modern web (web 2.0) the users themself are creating information for the other users.

What has changed with me?
Well, pretty much… everything!
Starting from country, way of life..

Both me and the web are now changing for good.

Happy anniversary, WWW!

Alex,
a web pro..

Internet Explorer 8

Posted on March 20th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

Yesterday, Microsoft announced the release of Internet Explorer 8. The biggest news is the full support of CSS 2.1 and the Web Standards support (finally!). I am happy to see that Microsoft is finally giving up all the wars and is now trying to create products which are independent from the environment and the platform.

All the websites, that we have created look good and exactly how they are supposed to IE8. The reason for this is that IE8 has changed the way the browser renders CSS rules. Now they obey the W3C rules. Which is making it even better. At the same time, websites that were developed for old versions of the browser might not work. This will make a lot of the websites on the net not working any more.

Another one of the hotnews is that IE8 was hacked just a few days later, when it was released on the TippingPoint’s 3rd annual Pwn2Own contest. After this microsoft fixed the problem on the same day.
Although, IE8 is much better than IE7, I recommend you to wait a few weeks before downloading it.

Windows Server 2008 for PHP

Posted on March 13th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

Allright, here is the newest technology

They say that PHP has been running 120% faster than on Unix system..

http://www.microsoft.com/uk/servers/winclientshearts/
To be honest, I am a fan of Windows, but the desktop OSes..

The servers are not so good beacause, they were written in a bad way.

But the famous organization Zend (that created the modern PHP engine) is guaranteeng that it will work:

http://devzone.zend.com/article/3233-Windows-Server-2008-Now-PHP-Ready

Me, personally, I would never belive that something written for Unix, will work better in Win32 enviroment..

I am now testing this solution to see if it is better, so give me scripts to try!

Web 2.0

Posted on February 9th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

All these years, we the people are trying to create an super high technology – artificial intelligence (AI).
What comes to your mind when you hear the words “artificial intelligence” ? Some kind of supercomputer? You might be right, but I disagree with this..

Professor Wesch video “WEB 2.0 The machine is Us/ing Us”
There is an other thing which we “teach” everyday how to make decisions alone – this is the web.

One web

Posted on January 28th, 2009 in category Uncategorized

At the international webmasters association (IWA), we are doing our best to create one web for all, which looks the same under every electronic device with internet access.

More information about our mission can be found here: http://www.w3.org/Consortium/mission

There are a few key elements, you need to consider in order to create a web compatible product:

  • Web standards
  • UTF-8
  • Javascript independency (don’t forget the NOSCRIPT tag)
  • tableless (CSS based) layout
  • high contrast between the background and the font colours
  • use screen fonts (serif or sans-serif)

A bedtime story..

Posted on January 23rd, 2009 in category Uncategorized

Allright gals,

Here’s my favourite bed time story which I like telling the girls I see. It’s about The Love and her friends:

So, The Love invited all her friends at home.
After they had some chat and a coffee,
The Madness purposed:

`Do you wanna play hide and seek?`
`What is hide and seek?` – asked The Curiosity.
`Hide and seek is a game. I am gonna close my eyes and count to a hundred. You have to hide.` – said The Madness.
Everyone agreed except The Fear and The Laziness.
And The Madness started counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5….
The Impatience hid first, without thinking twice.
The Shyness, shy as always, hid in a small wood.
The Happiness ran in the middle of the garden.
The Sadness started crying, because it didn’t know where to hide.
The Envy joined The Victory and they both hid behind a rock.

The Madness continued counting..
The Despair got desperate when The Madness counted to 99..
`A hundred!` – shouted The Madness – `I am starting to seek.`
The first one found was The Curiosity. It showed first just because it wanted to know who will be the first one found.
Than The Madness looked around and saw The Doubt, which was staying on the wall and wondering on which side of the wall to hide.
After this, The Madness found The Happiness, The sadness, The shyness
When all they got together, The Madness asked:
`Does anybody know where is The Love?`
But nobody knew.
The Madness continued searching for The Love.
She searched on the top of the mountains, in the woods, in the rivers, in the valleys, but she didn’t find her.
Finally, after a long search, The Madness looked into a small bush and found The Love there.
The Love was sobbing, because she got a thorn into her eye.
The Madness was so worried and didn’t know what to do. She apologized a thousand times and she promised The Love that they will always be together..

Now the love is blind and The Madness is leading her by hand.
